YMCA Membership Coordinator

GENERAL: The Torrance-South Bay YMCA Membership Coordinator is responsible for growing membership including marketing and lead generation, prospect management, conversion to membership, providing friendly, courteous and helpful information to members and participants, while striving to create a sense of community and involvement within the YMCA. This position is responsible for all aspects of membership relations and assisting members with program registration, payments, and inquiries by providing accurate and thorough information at all times while on the phone or conducting an interview.
PREFERRED CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES
High School Diploma. AA Degree in hospitality, human services or related field preferred.
Experience in sales and customer/member service industries
Is enthusiastic and easily relates to people of all backgrounds. Since we have a variety of members- socioeconomic, ethnically, racial, etc.
Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience utilizing Active Net database preferred.
Can successfully multi-task.
Hardworking energetic leadership style
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Bilingual preferred
KEY RESULT AREAS:
Increase guest pass and tours converting to new members
Improve the percentage of prospective and new member records with accurate
emails and phone numbers

ncrease in number of new membership units
Provide a welcoming environment for members and guests
Become familiar with all programs offered at the YMCA to inform members of
YMCA program that will meet member's needs and interests
$11/hour
Full time, non-exempt position (12:30-9pm Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 10am- 6:30pm on Saturdays, other 8 hour shift TBD)
