Registered Nurse (May serve as Facility Manager)

Summary:
The Registered Nurse supervises and monitors nursing activities performed by all nursing personnel on an assigned shift and cooperates and interacts with other departments and nursing units in the facility. This position is responsible for the medication administration on an assigned shift.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing, required.
Bachelor's degree, preferred. (

Experience
One (1) year experience with SED children or 40 hours on the job training.
One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
Two (2) years experience with SED children if serving as facility manager.

License or Certification
Valid California RN license.
Ability to pass facility Medication Test within 30 days of employment.
Current CPR certification.
First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Specialized Skills
Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously emotionally disturbed adolescents, other staff, physicians and the public.
Demonstrated team leadership skills.
Knowledge of medication administration, especially psychotropic meds and medical treatment.

Physical Requirements
Ability to physically perform containment, escort, and restraint procedures with assaultive adolescents.
Ability to physically assist in lifting and carrying assaultive adolescents weighing up to 200 lbs.
Ability to visually and audibly assess adolescent's behavior and needs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time preparing and administering medications.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
