CNC Grinder
Salary Range:
$25-$30
Function:
Must be able to set up and operate manual and CNC milling and grinding machines as well as CNC lathes. Capable of holding tight tolerances associated with the machining of precision parts. Must be able to read blueprints and interrupt written work instructions. Prior experience using multi-axis CNC Mills or Lathes required ie.)Okumas.
Essential job functions:
Employee will work in a machine cell where he/she will be responsible for the operation of 1 or more machines at a time, depending on production needs. Employee must be comfortable multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
Required skills:
Candidate must possess 3 years of Machinist experience (NOT SIMPLY MACHINE OPERATION). Must be comfortable setting-up and troubleshooting mechanical issues with CNC Machines. Must also be comfortable using various measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, and Dial Bore Gauges.
Gear and/or grind experience a plus
Scope:
Performs set-ups and all other machinist level functions related to I.D. and O.D. CNC grinding and is expected to run 2 machines simultaneously. Responsible for the inspection of all work performed; detecting unusual conditions, defective materials, and deviate parts; and recognizing errors in blueprints and operation sheets. Grind a wide variety of complex parts having either interim grooving, numerous steps, tapers, unusual contours, to extremely close tolerances and/or a high degree of finish on two or more of the following type grinders:
cylindrical, internal, or surface. Perform own set-ups to include chucking and aligning of parts having irregular shapes. Select proper wheels, speeds, reeds, and operating sequence. Dress wheels for form, taper, steps, straight and unusual forms. Inspect own work using sine bars, air gages, diatest, V-blocks, profilometers angle plates, and electronic gaging equipment.
Education:
High School diploma or GED required.
Machining trade a plus.
