We currently have an opening at our Torrance, California location for an experienced MECHANICAL ENGINEER to perform product design, mechanical testing, electronic circuit packaging, thermal, structural and fluid mechanics analyses of ion thrusters and associated power supplies for space applications. In this challenging position within our Electric Propulsion group you will participate in the mechanical design of ion thrusters, electronic packaging of space power supplies, support ongoing electric propulsion production programs (flight hardware) as well as supporting the development of next-generation electric propulsion systems. You will also develop and implement methods to achieve cost and schedule reductions as well as performance and quality enhancements. In addition, you will contribute to new concepts for follow-on business and assist in new-business development activities by conducting technical presentations, writing proposals, and interacting with customers.
You should have at least eight years of relevant engineering experience, with a thorough understanding and hands on experience in the areas of mechanical design and analysis, electronic circuit packaging, power supply and mechanical hardware manufacturing for space environments. Familiarity with CAD systems (such as ALTIUM, AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, etc.), thermal, structural and fluid mechanics analysis modeling (such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, CFD etc.) and power circuit board (PCB) design and processing is needed, along with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). This position requires well-developed analytical abilities and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize and present technical designs and schedules to customers. The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment is necessary. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or a related field) is necessary, with a master's degree preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
