Ground up restoration.
The car vin #3069 was made Wed Jan 22, 1958 283/250hp Fuel Injected.

Lightly driven and enjoyed for 31 years 283/250HP engine, F1023CR stamp, UNIT 4900, distributor 915,No heater car,Restored to NCRS specifications by previous owner who was an accountant in San Diego and who was transferred to Australia.
The car then sold to most recent owner who arranged his purchase in July 1988 through old Corvette restorer Jim Watkins who had worked on the car for the old owner.
The car was a driver with some later model parts including upholstery, shifter, engine, fan shroud, valve covers, coil, and other smaller items like oil filler and gas tank caps.
The fuel injection mounting plate showed it was a fuel car new and the low RPM tach showed it was one of only 504 cars made with the 283/250hp motor.
Colors were 'Signet Red' body with white coves, Red interior amp; Red hardtop.
The original power soft top frame was missing, but the previous owner had an original replacement frame restored with white fabric during the restoration project.
The power top pistons and motor were and still are missing.
Both topa afre now restored and today each would cost a minimum of $5K each to restore in this condition.
The car went through a body-on restoration from 1990 - 1995.
First was by Jim Watkins, then transferred to a team of NCRS experts headed by John Sunda after Jim's passing.
The previous owner had joined NCRS several years before purchasing the car and wanted to restore it to original.
To that end he studied the NCRS 1959 - 1960 Judging Manual.
Original manual team leader Dan Holstein helped and the Noland Adams Restoration amp; Technical Guide' gave Peter the knowledge.
During the restoration period the owner went to Jim's shop every Saturday to help with grunt labor and learn as much as he could about the car amp; the restoration process.
He was blessed to live in San Juan Capistrano, California with the experts in those days living nearby.

Electronic ignition installed in the original 915 distributor, deep throat 160 thermostat, white wall radial tires, contemporary battery.
Both horns are correct amp; have been rebuilt.
To the best of our knowledge most everything is either original or correct.

A perfectly functioning wiper motor with the correct model part number was noticed to have been replaced.
The engine was rebuilt again in 2017 amp; the FI was serviced, so the car runs smoothly.
New update 1-23-21The engine has all new pistons, rods amp; bearings, and the crankshaft was rebalanced at a speed shop.
A newly installed electronic ignition replacing the original dual point system.
The original clutch was replaced with a hydraulic one.
The original 283 engines typically leak oil from the rear seal.
The seal was replaced with a new synthetic one that eliminated the leak.
The FI unit was serviced at the same time as the engine rebuild, so the engine starts amp; runs smoothly.
Chuck Smith fuel injection amp; carb service.
Tires are a few years old, maybe 200 miles on them, but look new.
Radial wide WW.
The windshield was replaced during the restoration, perfectly clear, no pits or scratches.
The entire interior was restored, and a thermal blanket was installed under the carpet.
